Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing, public relations, and media strategies aligned with the College’s goals and objectives. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor.
• Oversee the creation, implementation, and tracking of social media content across various platforms.
• Manage website updates and content to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
• Lead the development of College-wide publications, including brochures, newsletters, annual reports, recruitment materials, and press releases. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor.
• Proofread and edit College communications to ensure clarity, professionalism, and alignment with institutional messaging.
• Coordinate internal and external communication efforts, including media relations and public affairs initiatives. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor.
• Develop and maintain a library of multimedia assets, including photography and video content.
• Secure and oversee contractual services for advertising, graphic design, printing, photography, and media production. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor.
Community & Public Relations
• Serve as a liaison between LDCC and the broader community, fostering relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen the College’s public presence.
• Collaborate with internal departments to design and execute community outreach initiatives.
• Organize and direct media events, including press conferences, promotional activities, ribbon cuttings, and public forums. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor. .
• Develop and maintain press kits, fact sheets, and talking points for College leadership. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor.
Operational & Crisis Communications
• Assist in the development of crisis communication strategies and manage the College’s emergency notification system. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor.
• Work closely with College leadership to ensure consistency in messaging across all communications channels.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, digital marketing innovations, and best practices in public relations and community engagement.
• Provide oversight for the marketing and communications budget, ensuring strategic allocation of resources. Collaborate with LCTCS PR/communications personnel as appropriate and/or directed by supervisor.
Required Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of four years of experience in a marketing, communications, or public relations role, preferably in higher education or a related sector.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, website management, and digital marketing platforms.
• Experience in media relations, social media strategy, and community outreach.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of crisis communication strategies and experience in emergency preparedness is a plus.

• Availability to attend evening and weekend events as needed.
• Ability to travel occasionally for networking, outreach, and professional development opportunities.
