Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Delivery
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction using in-person, online, or hybrid formats.
- Adapt content to meet student needs across multiple educational functioning levels.
- Use digital platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Canvas, Essential Ed, Aztec) to enhance instruction and support distance learners.
- Follow course syllabi, maintain instructional time, and monitor student progress.
Assessment and Compliance
- Administer WRU-approved pre- and post-assessments (such as TABE and/or CASAS) per WRU Assessment Policy.
- Maintain accurate student data (attendance, assessment, MSGs) in the state data system.
- Assist with meeting state and federal performance indicators, including Measurable Skill Gains (MSG), credential attainment, and transition outcomes.
Student Engagement and Support
- Guide students through goal setting, academic planning, and career exploration.
- Refer students to wraparound services and support agencies as appropriate.
- Encourage persistence, progress, and success through regular feedback and mentoring.
Professional Expectations
- Attend required training and WRU professional development activities.
- Maintain current knowledge of adult education practices, workforce needs, and instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with site staff and community partners to support program goals and regional workforce alignment
Required Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Required Experience: Professional experience related to education, workforce development, or human services.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective instructional techniques and classroom management skills. Proficient in technology use for instruction and data entry. Student-centered, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Experience: Prior experience teaching adult learners or in non-traditional education settings. Familiarity with WIOA, WRU policy, or National Reporting System (NRS) requirements. Certification in WRU-approved assessments (or willingness to obtain certification).
