Duties and Responsibilities: 

55% Responsible for all benefit/retirement activities, including onboarding, offboarding, FMLA, proactive as well as support functions for all classified and unclassified employees. Respond and resolve all benefit/retirement inquiries and issues. Prepare and coordinate all benefit/retirement analysis support. Responsible for preparing all benefit/retirement reports including monthly entries. Communicates routinely with all employees regarding benefit updates. Partner with the HRIS team to manage the FLAC process and related reporting. Provide analytics of data to educate constituents.

10% Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive campus-wide Wellness Campaign addressing all six aspects of wellness (Social, Mental/Emotional, Physical, Environmental, Occupational, Intellectual, and Financial), including, but not limited to planning and executing educational seminars with guest speakers, on a quarterly basis.

10% Coordinates and processes the OGB (group medical) and retirement eligibility; initiates the retirement process for eligible employees and maintains and processes all eligible benefits for employees and retirees. Manage the Employee Maintenance Report (EMR) of OGB. Timely and accurately reconciles all benefit invoices on a monthly basis; completes and submits all applicable benefits reports to LCTCS and Delgado Community College Payroll Department, as required.

10% Partnering with the State of Louisiana Office of, implement and manage Delgado Community College ADA program for employees. Communicates information received from the college’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all employees on a monthly basis including EAP training classes. Conducts wellness fair prior to or in conjunction with Open Enrollment. Prepares and hosts mental health campaign for all employees on a quarterly basis.

10% Researches and make recommendations regarding areas of responsibility to HR leadership. Support all HR activities such as audit of files, employee engagement activities and contract reviews and input.

5% Special projects as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer and Assistant Director of Human Resources.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or institution or in lieu of degree, 8 - 10 years of related experience

Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Benefits and Retirement administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Banner (LoLA), PeopleSoft, ISIS and any other related software.

Required Licenses or Certifications: N/A

Preferred Education: SHRM-CP and/or PHR

Preferred Experience: Working experience in the Banner data system.
