Duties and Responsibilities: 

60% - Conduct research on various HR topics such as: Employment laws and Leadership topics for Institution Leadership program.
Prepare recommendations regarding employee issues based on certified data such as laws, LCTCS policies, DCC policies, etc.
Review and recommend updates to DCC HR policies.
Coordinates special projects and prepare operating reports.
Obtain Cognos reports and retrieve data from SharePoint.
Conduct internal audits regarding equity and inclusion for HR procedures.
Prepare draft correspondence for CHRO on HR matters.
Prepare correspondence of a confidentiality/technical nature.

20% - Conduct training with managers and above on 30- and 60-day interviews for new hires.
Conduct 90-day interviews with new hires.
Conduct stay interviews on high performing employees.
Analyze and track results.
Supervise part time employee.

10% - Conduct exit interviews, track and analyze results.
Review and prepares response to all emails in the HR shared box.
Prepare all necessary transactions regarding HR invoices – subscriptions, memberships, etc.
Maintain filing system.
Coordinate efforts in preparation for Leadership Meeting, develop tracking system to show results of meetings.
Coordinate employee engagement events and work with college committee.

5% - Maintain HR inventory and distribute as necessary.
Prepare annual policy letters – related employees and outside employment.
Coordinate Culture Task Force meetings and functions.
Set CHRO appointments, travels, meetings, and seminars.
Input Personnel transaction into DCC Banner system as needed.
Review and ensure accuracy and authenticity of information in DCC Banner system.
Conduct internal audits on areas of HR such as: FMLA, I-9, Tuition, etc.

5% - Support the department in department wide initiatives as needed.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Required Experience: 8-10 years of HR experience in functional areas of HR such as talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, and employee relations.
Proficiency required in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Power Point. Visio Org preferred, but not required.

Preferred Experience: 5 years of legal HR experience
SHRM Certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) or HRCI Certification (PHR or SPHR)
