Duties and Responsibilities:

 • Responsible for program oversight along with administrative operations including faculty and staff development and evaluation, workload, sequencing of courses and/or clinical sites, budget preparation and management, and coordination of the program advisory committee while keeping the Vice Chancellor of Education and Student Services continuously informed and involved.
• In collaboration with the Dean and ASN faculty colleagues, develops, and implements curriculum and completes internal and external review, assessment, and institutional effectiveness processes including but not limited to annual reports and accreditation reports; and maintains all necessary components of program accreditation.
• According to current Faculty rank, teaches, serves (program, division, faculty, college, and community) and engages in scholarship.
• Collaborates with colleagues and participates in student recruitment, retention, advising, and other success initiatives to support students.
• Develops, supports, and leads ongoing projects and new initiatives and new programs (program, division, college) independently and as assigned.
• Participates in the selection, orientation, and evaluation of faculty.
• Maintains current knowledge of trends, best practices, and educational methodologies in nursing. Serves as a resource and professional model for faculty, staff, and students within the program and a collegial partner to colleagues at the College.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining core curriculum across the College
• Assists with implementation of the adjunct faculty orientation, management, evaluation and encourages professional development.
• Participates in College-wide shared governance activities.

Required Education: 

Master’s Degree, Nursing from a regionally accredited institution
Unencumbered Louisiana Registered Nursing license
Teaching experience required
Demonstrated leadership ability and evidence of success in achieving measurable outcomes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers and representatives of State and local agencies.
A commitment to the teaching-learning process of the community college and the open-door admission process

Preferred Experience: Five (5) years of teaching experience
Three (3) years of administrative/management experience
