Salary: $20.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities: Provide coaching services by one-on-one college and career coaching sessions to student participants who are identified by the Career Compass Project manager.
• Assist students with transitioning to a college environment.
• Lead summer workshops, tours, and orientations for student participants.
• Meet with student participants during their senior year of high school, over the summer, and at least twice each semester once the student is enrolled in college.
• Monitor student progress in classes monthly and proactively provide intervention and resources to students as needed.
• Participate in Beyond Graduation training, conducted by Career Compass.
• Obtain FERPA waivers to release information to Career Compass.
• Update database with relevant student data and complete monthly progress reports within a prescribed timeframe.
• Develop ongoing, sustained relationships with students.
• Develop and maintain a complete understanding of each student’s unique situation, background, and needs.
• Travel to high schools as needed to meet with student participants.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: One year experience working with students in a K-12 school, college, university or other similar setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and networked personal computers.
• Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations needed to complete job tasks.
• Skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing job duties to meet deadlines.
• Maintaining interpersonal professional working relationships at all levels – students, peers, and Executives.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public relations, or guidance counseling.
