Duties and Responsibilities: • Audiovisuals. Provides sufficient practice with equipment in order to develop skill proficiency.
• Utilizes a committee to ensure that desirable, relevant, and current practices of the occupation are being taught. The committee is composed of at least three members external to the College, meets at least twice per year, and keeps minutes to document committee activities.
• Responsible for student completion, placement, and retention rates ensuring that they meet accrediting agencies standards
• Responsible for providing training in the competencies essential to success in the occupation including attitudes, job knowledge, and skills
• Provides advisement services to assigned advisees
• Evaluates follow-up data from completers and employers to obtain information concerning program effectiveness and relevance to improve the quality of the program where needed
• Maintains currency of ASE certifications and acquires 20 hours of additional industry-based training annually
• Attends all commencement ceremonies
• Attends meetings and prepares reports as necessary
• Maintains tool room organization
• Manages the tool control program
• Maintains and repairs support equipment and training aids
• Oversees and performs safety related house keeping
• Oversees and maintains the general cleanliness of labs and the shop floor
• Maintains an organized and accurate student record filing system
• Identifies missing/broken tools required for ASE certification
• Becomes familiar with submitting supply requisitions
• Becomes thoroughly familiar with the ASE Foundation Automobile ELT on-site Evaluation Handbook
• Identifies gaps in ASE accreditation compliance and creates a plan to assure compliance
• Other duties as deemed necessary

Required Education: • High school or equivalent

Required Experience: • Five or more years of relevant applied experience

Required Licenses or Certifications: Current ASE certifications in G-1 and A1-A8

Preferred Education: • Technical Diploma from an ASE accredited vehicle maintenance and repair school
• Associates Degree

Preferred Experience: • Teaching experience
• Five or more years leadership experience or 4 years of military experience
• Familiarization with the ASE accreditation process

 

Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
